LAWNS
Do you seed lawns using a straw cover, or do you hydroseed?
Your newly seeded lawn does not have to germinate poorly because the wind has just blown the straw cover all over the neighborhood. The mulch applied in the hydroseeding process stays put in the wind by bonding with the soil. Please note: we have done both seeding with straw and hydroseeding, we have chosen the superior method
hydroseeding.
Can we spray the weeds in our newly seeded lawn?
Usually what you see in the first few weeks is a combination of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds. Most annual weeds will die with the first frost. The general rule of thumb for eliminating broadleaf weeds is to wait until the grass has been mowed five or more times before applying a liquid weed control. Make sure that the lawn is being fertilized at the appropriate times. As the lawn thickens up, this will also help to choke out the weeds.
What are the differences between a seeded lawn vs. sod?
Although a seeded lawn costs less than sod to be installed, it will require more of your time and energy to establish. While a sodded lawn gives you an instant green lawn and work better on hills, it is more costly. Call one of our sales staff to find out which is better for you.
